ABOUT

  • My vision is simple, to return to a culture of slow, intentional crafts, filling our homes and gifts with meaning and touches of life.

We live in a world that is full of cheap mass produced products, usually made from toxic plastics and careless production. all the while our homes are beginning to all look lifeless and the the same as the one next door, with duplicated products from every passing trend. It seems we have lost the human touch of intentionality and expression that once filled our spaces and were passed to each other as meaningful gifts.

  • Beautiful Things by Bec was launched in 2016 to share beautiful handmade goods with the world.
After being in business for a year, I began creating paper flowers.

I was completely fascinated with the curiosity of paper flowers. there were so many different styles and techniques to create artificial flowers that carried depth and lifelike touches.

over the last 9 years I have struggled through developing techniques and solving logistical disasters. Learning what works and doesn’t work. I initially tried copying what mainstream paper and artificial flower makers were doing, but I was disappointed when I discovered the toxic materials that were going into the finished products. I knew that if I didn’t want this for my home, neither should my buyers.

Furthermore, I was on a mission to create the most delicate and sweet flowers that would capture the light just right in the mornings, and reflect the house lamps gracefully in the evenings. Traditional flower making paper just didn’t cut it.

eventually I developed my own unique methods, to tell the story I wanted to tell with my designs, using only materials that felt safe to bring in the house.

I never could have imagined where these flowers would go, or what it would actually take to get there.

I have now created thousands of flowers since 2017 for various homes, parties, weddings, art events, large window displays, and marketing launches.

Beautiful Things by Bec has become a place where it is possible to have any variety of flower available in any season without impersonal mass production, and with out introducing toxic plastics or chemicals to your home or business.

  • Sometimes the things actually worth doing require the proper time and hard work to make it happen.

Every time I make one flower or 500 flowers, I am driven by the idea that the end result of each detail will be completely worth it. I believe that creating something beautiful is always worth the investment.

The character that well made art brings to your space will out last fast products every time.

We often underestimate what it actually takes to make something well. I used to want to rush my product through, trying desperately to compete with mass produced prices and lead times. but this only resulted in products made without the proper care and attention. Intentionality takes time and detail. I am committed to crafting each piece with care and intentionality so that you can fill your home with beautiful things that will remain timeless even after all the current trends wear out.

“Creating something beautiful is always worth the investment.”
